Popular Nigerian activist, VeryDarkMan (VDM), has once again drawn national attention for his fearless stance in the face of danger. While traveling to his village, he stumbled upon a horrifying scene where a passenger bus had been hijacked by kidnappers and its driver shot dead.

Instead of fleeing, VDM stopped, pulled out his phone, and began recording the incident. He openly confronted the kidnappers, even as police officers nearby allegedly failed to intervene. Witnesses described the chilling atmosphere as terrified passengers remained trapped inside the bus while the lifeless body of the driver lay on the ground, and armed security operatives stood at a distance, unwilling to act.

In the video he later shared online, VDM’s voice carried anger and disbelief as he showed viewers the slain driver and the stranded passengers. He strongly criticized security operatives for allowing criminals to operate unchecked.

His boldness has since sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians hailing him as a hero. One emotional tribute read: “Fearlessness is not the absence of danger, it is the boldness to rise above it. Today, VDM has shown us the true meaning of courage. In a time when many look away, he stepped in with bravery, compassion, and selflessness.”

Calls are now mounting for the government to recognize and protect him, as his relentless efforts to expose crime and negligence continue to shed light on the country’s worsening insecurity.

VDM first gained attention for his outspoken criticism of controversial public figures and quickly grew a massive following. His candor and willingness to challenge powerful institutions have made him both admired and controversial. While many Nigerians hail him as a voice of truth and a defender of the oppressed, his confrontational style has also led to frequent clashes with authorities and even arrests.

Despite threats and legal battles, VDM has remained undeterred, insisting that his mission is to “speak the truth no matter whose ox is gored.” His courage, combined with his streetwise communication style, has earned him a strong fan base among young Nigerians who see him as a symbol of resistance against oppression and silence in the face of injustice.
